Artist Statement:

My work deals with the concept of the home in relation to the world around it, where the seperation of these two ideas happen and why. When family is seen as an ideology rather than a birthright what happens to the other side of that metaphorical wall? Is the home the factory of life and does it make the world around us or does the world around us make the home, are they not the same thing?
Life being art, I merely move some of it around to say some thing about it. In my work I combine construction materials with domestic, in order to build walls that tear themselves down. I think every facet of how we live is through the barriers we create in our mind and that process is imprinted on us at the homefront. Have we walled ourselves in or have we walled ourselves out.

Break it, you.......something.

Sat Mar 22, 2008, 5:43 AM
Ya I am on a break and I find it hard not doing as much work as I am used to. I went to glasgow for a gig and it was a really cool city. I nearly forgot I was not in Ireland half the time and only way i knew any different is for that very distinctive glaswegian acent.
But anyway I went into this one shop, you know the kind that sells bongs and hellraiser figures and as usual theese places have a glass cabinet full of swords and weapons , so I am looking through this cabinet and there is this whole part of I dedicated to nazi replica's!
I left it pissed me of a good bit, I am not too sure exactly why I see that kind of stupidity all the time . I suppose I know what "kind" of "people" are going to buy a hitler youth knife so it got to me in that way.
I was also talking to a friendly heroin addict while I was there who was trying to tell me that the best fish and chips were right up that very narrow alleyway.
I bought a load of books there that i could have got at home but I had money there and then so i got them.

That whole week I was drunk, It was my rag week in colledge so i was being encouraged by about 500 people doing the exact same thing. I got drunk St Pats night as well but not as much as the week before. I really insulted a very innocent girl for no reason and she cried, I completely don't remeber it. So im of drink again for another 2 months, it's really borring me now.

The End Is Fine

Mon Feb 25, 2008, 11:13 AM
I finished a piece I had been working on for about 3 weeks there recently. It took me about a week to pluck up the courage to do it and get my friends to document it. The performance lasted about an hour and took place in the Center of Limerick City. I had made the sandwhich board in relatively quick time, and i had got an old suite and a white shirt, a red tie and some thick glasses. [link] and [link] helped by photographing and lookin out for Gardí. As we were leaving and i had put on my coat the gards arived and missed us we made our way home. I still have to edit the film footage of the performance but it should be up on Youtube soon untill then i hope the photos are enough.
The piece is intended to be a poke at religion and fear, or are they the same thing i can never remember.
